Job description

Overview:

We are seeking applications for an Intelligence Support Specialist for DOE Counterintelligence – Oak Ridge Field Office (ORFO). The incumbent will be a part of the Counterintelligence (CI) team responsible for managing and implementing the Cl Program that encompasses all contractor facilities at Oak Ridge, TN; Portsmouth, OH; and Paducah, KY.

This position supports the CI portions of the Foreign Travel (FT) and Foreign National Visits & Assignments (FNVA) programs, ensuring counterintelligence issues are identified and addressed. It also offers the opportunity to collaborate with CI professionals within the US Intelligence Community (USIC).

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Foreign Travel program – Review, assess, and analyze employee foreign travel requests
  • Foreign Visits & Assignments - Review, assess, and analyze requests for foreign access to DOE facilities and programs
  • Navigate a variety of USIC and openly available data sources in an organized and timely manner to identify and communicate issues of concern
  • Work closely with CI analysts to identify and analyze threat information about individuals, organizations, and technologies relevant to CI
  • Analyze foreign interaction and travel activity for intelligence potential
  • Coordinate and present foreign travel briefings for DOE personnel
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on all FT and FNVA activity within the ORFO area of responsibility
  • Conduct other duties as assigned to support the local and national DOE CI missions

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA and two (2) years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience conducting thorough and comprehensive research with attention to detail; collecting/tracking/analyzing information and preparing reports.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Professional Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in working in the United States Intelligence Community (USIC) is preferred
  • Experience in foreign persons/entity vetting
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills are required
  • The incumbent must be reliable, self-motivated, and goal driven
  • DOE Q-Clearance with SCI access

Special Requirements:

  • Visa sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Security, Credentialing, and Eligibility Requirements: Q clearance with SCI: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program. In addition, due the SCI, you may also be subject to random polygraph testing.
