Title: Controls Engineer
Location: North Haven, CT

Job Summary
We are looking for a Controls Automation Engineer with experience in PLC programming, automation, robotics, and vision systems to support manufacturing equipment, process improvements, and new automation projects in a Medical Device manufacturing environment.
 
Required Skills
·Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
·4+ years of Controls/Automation Engineering experience.
·Strong experience with PLC Programming and Controls Engineering.
·Knowledge of Robotics, Vision Systems, Servo Motors, and Motion Control.
·Experience with GuardLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and FactoryTalk ME/SE.
·Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics.
·Experience with IQ, FAT, SAT, equipment validation, and commissioning.
·Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment and performing Root Cause Analysis.
·Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Machine Risk Assessments, CTQ, and OEE improvements.
·Strong documentation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
 
Preferred Skills
·Allen-Bradley PLCs.
·Cognex Vision Systems and Automated Inspection.
·Rockwell Automation Software.
·Keyence Vision Systems.
·Experience with packaging and automated assembly equipment, including Form-Fill-Seal (FFS), Bar Sealers, Vacuum Drying Systems, Automated Labeling Systems, and Robotic Packaging Equipment.
·Medical Device manufacturing experience.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, and automated manufacturing equipment.
·Lead automation projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
·Develop electrical schematics, equipment specifications, operating instructions, and software backups.
·Execute FAT, SAT, IQ, and equipment validation activities.
·Improve manufacturing performance by increasing OEE and reducing downtime.
·Work with vendors on equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualification.
·Support maintenance teams and resolve production issues through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
·Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Suppliers to ensure reliable and compliant manufacturing processes.
