As a Yield Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of advancing Intel's cutting-edge process technologies within our Logic Technology Development (LTD) organization. This pivotal role involves identifying root cause yield limiters and driving solutions that enhance manufacturability and yield across technology nodes. You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment to ensure the successful introduction of new products, process improvements, and robust methodologies to meet manufacturing goals. Your expertise will directly contribute to Intel's ability to deliver world-class semiconductor solutions and advance the future of computing.

At Intel, the Foundry Technology Development (TD) unit is the driving force behind Moore's Law, enabling us to create groundbreaking technology that enriches lives globally. Your responsibilities as a Yield Development Engineer will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse big data sources for defect mode understanding and yield modeling.
  • Perform statistical analysis, create visualizations, and construct process development roadmaps that drive technology yield milestones.
  • Extract insights from structured and unstructured data using advanced statistics, machine learning, and coding techniques.
  • Organize, interpret, and structure insights from fab process, defect, and electrical data while identifying anomalies to drive process changes for yield enhancement.
  • Develop multivariate algorithms and tools to identify root cause yield limiters and recommend process changes for yield improvement.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve yield issues, ensuring manufacturability across process and product specifications before ramping production.
  • Execute new product introductions, enable design-technology co-optimization, and participate in design of experiments with factory task forces.
  • Develop measurement recipes for rapid feedback on product integrity and address issues impacting yield or product quality.
  • Create and harden systems capable of meeting operational needs for leading-edge logic nodes, working with equipment vendors and internal collaborators.
  • Develop AI/ML applications and computational tools to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, improve design efficiency, and reduce debug time.
  • Document technical procedures, train colleagues, and debug equipment, software, and procedural failures in production environments when required.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork, classes, research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in semiconductor science-related STEM degree in engineering, physical science, computer science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in advanced semiconductor devices and process flow

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with data analysis systems and software tools
  • 2+ years of experience in yield projection with EOL signals and in line parameters
  • Project/program management experience with strong self-initiative and self-learning capabilities.
  • Proven track record of working across organizations through matrix structures to accomplish strategic objectives with conflicting priorities.
