Integrity Associate information

What is an integrity associate?

Integrity Associates are professionals responsible for ensuring that companies and organizations adhere to ethical standards, policies, and legal regulations. They often investigate potential violations, implement compliance programs, and promote a culture of honesty and transparency within the workplace. By monitoring and reporting on issues such as fraud, misconduct, or conflicts of interest, Integrity Associates help protect the organization's reputation and maintain trust among stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an integrity associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Integrity Associate, you need strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of compliance, ethics, or regulatory frameworks—often supported by a relevant bachelor's degree. Familiarity with compliance management systems, data analysis tools, and reporting software is typically required, and certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) can be beneficial. Outstanding communication, discretion, and problem-solving skills are essential for handling sensitive information and complex situations. These skills ensure the accurate identification and resolution of integrity issues, upholding organizational standards and legal compliance.

What are some common challenges integrity associates face when handling sensitive investigations?

Integrity Associates often encounter the challenge of balancing confidentiality with thoroughness during sensitive investigations. They must navigate complex situations where gathering accurate information requires discretion and empathy, while also adhering strictly to organizational policies and legal guidelines. Additionally, they may face pressure to resolve cases quickly, making strong time-management and prioritization skills essential. Collaborating effectively with HR, legal teams, and management is also critical to ensure fair and unbiased outcomes.

Job description

Company Description

At Lakeshore, we create innovative learning materials and world-class guest experiences for teachers, parents and children. Since 1954, we've grown into a global community-with a thriving e-commerce business, multiple catalogs, over 50 stores, a peerless national sales force, plus international offices that support our preeminent supply chain division. But today we're working better, smarter and faster than ever-and setting our sights even higher. We're building an infrastructure designed for scalability, embracing data-driven decision-making and using technology to improve efficiency and ensure the best tools for the best work. Most importantly, we continue to invest in a diverse team of inquisitive top talent who fuel each other's passions and curiosity, take risks, try new things and believe that every new day brings opportunities for growth.

Job Description

At Lakeshore, the products we make end up in the hands of children - so getting them right matters. As a Product Integrity Associate on our Quality team, you'll help make sure the products and learning materials we sell are safe, reliable, and ready for learners. This is a great entry point into the world of product quality, with hands-on training and real responsibility from day one.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Reviewing product profiles and identifying the applicable compliance testing requirements for each item
  • Coordinating with third-party laboratories to book and track product testing submissions
  • Reaching out to suppliers to request and follow up on product samples needed for evaluation
  • Maintaining accurate, organized records of test reports and compliance documentation
  • Supporting the Product Integrity team on department projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications

Got the skills and experience? Here's what we're looking for:

Required:

  • 0-2 years of professional, internship or related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable picking up new systems, tools and processes with guidance
  • Able to manage multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Onsite, full-time availability at our Carson, CA office

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work or internship experience
  • Exposure to quality assurance, product compliance, supply chain, or a related area - through coursework, internship, or prior work

What sets you apart:

  • You catch what others miss - you take pride in accurate work and flag potential issues before they become bigger problems
  • You ask good questions. When something is unfamiliar, you seek guidance rather than guess, and you apply what you learn going forward
  • You follow through. When you commit to a task or deadline, people can count on it getting done
