What is integrative wellness?

Integrative wellness is an approach to health that considers the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—by combining conventional medicine with complementary therapies and lifestyle changes. It focuses on prevention, nutrition, stress management, physical activity, and other factors that influence well-being. Practitioners work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized wellness plans that address physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. The goal is to optimize overall health and prevent illness, rather than just treating symptoms.

How does an Integrative Wellness professional typically collaborate with other healthcare providers to support client outcomes?

Integrative Wellness professionals often work as part of interdisciplinary teams that may include physicians, nutritionists, mental health counselors, and fitness experts. They coordinate care by sharing insights and progress updates, ensuring that a client's wellness plan addresses all aspects of health—physical, emotional, and lifestyle. Regular team meetings and open communication are common, enabling a holistic approach to client care and helping to resolve any overlapping or conflicting recommendations. This collaborative structure not only enhances client outcomes but also fosters ongoing professional growth through shared expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Integrative Wellness practitioner, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Integrative Wellness Practitioner, a strong background in health sciences, nutrition, holistic care, and relevant certifications such as health coaching or integrative medicine is essential. Familiarity with wellness assessment tools, client management software, and evidence-based integrative modalities is typically required. Exceptional communication, empathy, and motivational skills help practitioners build trust and guide clients through lifestyle changes. These skills are vital for delivering comprehensive, client-centered care that promotes long-term wellness and positive health outcomes.

What can I do with an integrative wellness degree?

An integrative wellness degree prepares individuals for careers in holistic health, including roles such as wellness coach, health educator, or integrative health practitioner. Graduates often work in healthcare settings, wellness centers, or private practice, utilizing skills in nutrition, stress management, and lifestyle counseling.

Our Community Health Clinic setting emphasizes collaboration and support among clinicians, as we bandwidth to encourage open discussion and continuous improvement in the delivery of care. You will be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to reshaping mental health therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and interviews to create personalized treatment and discharge plans for clients.
  • Provide compassionate counseling, therapy, and psychotherapy to clients using evidence-based methodologies.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) platforms to document client interactions and submit documentation within 24 hours of service delivery.
  • Evaluate client data to identify underlying issues, and determine the most effective therapeutic approach or necessary referrals to specialists.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development by attending mandatory training sessions and staying current with best practices in mental health care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to offer a comprehensive healing process that respects varying client beliefs and practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse client population encompassing individuals seeking counseling for anxiety, trauma, depression, and other mental health issues. Our approach recognizes the importance of integrating innovative healing methods, including support for individuals interested in non-ordinary states of consciousness such as psychedelics, meditation, and other holistic practices. Your contributions will directly enhance clients' experiences, empowering them as they progress through their personal mental health journeys.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field with LCSW designation or equivalent licensure.
  • Demonstrable capacity to work effectively with digital tools and technologies, particularly within telehealth settings.
  • Strong commitment to uphold legal and ethical responsibilities surrounding patients' rights and confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain malpractice insurance and integrate a minimum caseload of 10 (53-minute) sessions per week.
  • Excellent communication skills and a sincere ability to empathize with clients' experiences.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience using various therapeutic techniques, including but not limited to counseling methods, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and holistic approaches involving meditation and breathwork.
  • Previous experience in teletherapy or providing remote mental health services is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with legal aspects of mental health care and insurance credentialing is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will be eligible for a robust benefits package, including a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and a sign-on bonus upon joining our team. We prioritize the well-being of our staff, offering flexibility to promote a balanced work-life dynamic.
