We are currently seeking a Senior MuleSoft Integration Engineer to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

Position Summary

NTT DATA's State, Local, and Education (SLED) Division is seeking a Senior MuleSoft Integration Lead – Production Support & Integration Services to provide hands-on technical leadership for the Texas Department of Information Resources (TX-DIR) Public Cloud Manager account. This role combines solution architecture, API development, production operations, integration governance, DevOps oversight, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will own the operational health of the MuleSoft platform while leading the design, enhancement, deployment, monitoring, and long-term sustainment of enterprise integrations.

Location: Remote (some travel to client site required)

Primary Responsibilities

·       Provide hands-on technical leadership for MuleSoft development, architecture, troubleshooting, and production support.

·       Serve as the technical lead for MuleSoft developers, offshore teams, vendors, and client technical resources.

·       Lead architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support of MuleSoft APIs and integration services.

·       Own production stability, participate in Sev1/Sev2 incident response, lead root cause analysis, and drive permanent corrective actions.

·       Review and optimize existing APIs, CI/CD pipelines, repositories, runtime environments, and operational processes.

·       Establish standards for logging, monitoring, alerting, exception handling, API versioning, security, and deployment governance.

·       Perform architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, release readiness assessments, and operational readiness reviews.

·       Develop and maintain runbooks, integration inventories, API catalogs, architecture diagrams, dependency maps, deployment guides, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

·       Drive API governance, reusable integration patterns, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Provide executive-level technical status, risks, recommendations, and remediation plans.

Operational Accountability

·       Own API availability, deployment quality, MTTR improvement, release success rate, SLA compliance, and reduction of recurring incidents.

·       Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, maintenance windows, and emergency production support.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting APIs and integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, DataWeave 2.x, and RAML/OpenAPI.
  • 4+ years of experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, CloudHub 2.0 and/or Runtime Fabric.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar DevOps toolsets.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting production environments, including monitoring, performance tuning, deployment governance, release validation, incident management, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • 3+ years of experience implementing API security controls, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, Mutual TLS (mTLS), API security policies, secrets management, and certificate management.

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years of experience integrating with Salesforce.
  • 2+ years of experience integrating with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud modernization initiatives
  • Experience working in State Government, Public Sector, or highly regulated environments.
  • MuleSoft certifications such as MuleSoft Certified Developer (MCD) or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (MCIA).

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $122,648 to 227,125. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
