Job description

Life Prep Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and Christ-centered Science Teacher to serve students in grades 612. This role covers all science disciplines across the middle and high school levels, including Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, taught through a Christian homeschool curriculum that integrates a biblical worldview with rigorous academic content.


The ideal candidate loves science, loves students, and has a genuine faith in Jesus Christ that shapes the way they teach. They will inspire students to see Gods fingerprints in creation, develop critical thinking and inquiry skills, and understand the world through both scientific and biblical lenses.


Schedule: Part-Time | MondayWednesday | 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Responsibilities
  • Teach science courses to students in grades 612 using a Christian homeschool curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application.
  • Facilitate hands-on experiments, labs, and project-based learning experiences where appropriate.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely, individualized feedback and academic support.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students across multiple grade levels.
  • Communicate student progress to parents and administration through regular updates and semester progress reports.
  • Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into science instruction in meaningful ways.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to support cross-curricular learning and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
  • Support students academically, socially, and spiritually.

Requirements
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with Biblical values.
  • Agreement with the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of Life Prep Christian Academy.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience (classroom or homeschool setting preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of middle and high school science content across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to teach multiple grade levels in a multi-age classroom environment.
  • Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into academic instruction.
  • Joyful, flexible, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience using Christian homeschool curriculum preferred.
  • Experience in a hybrid or homeschool educational program preferred.
  • Familiarity with Montessori, Reggio Emilia, project-based learning, or experiential learning models preferred.
  • Florida teaching certification or equivalent teaching experience preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
