Job description

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Admissions / Intake Registered Nurse who will be responsible for facilitating admissions and discharges including but not limited to: the nursing assessment, fall risk assessment, suicide risk assessment, nutritional assessment, functional assessment, establishing precautions, understanding all unit processes and handbooks in order to navigate the new patient and relieve fears and anxieties, discharge planning and facilitating communication between Assessment and Referral (A&R) department and the unit departments, as well as with referral sources.

Responsibilities:
  • Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures
  • Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patients and other sources
  • Respond promptly to inquiry calls
  • Conduct Admission assessments
  • Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment
  • Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission
  • Coordinate with referral sources
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients
  • Maintain all documentation involved with the admissions process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Current unencumbered RN licensed by the Nevada State Board of Nursing
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing procedures
  • Knowledge of all code procedures
  • Knowledge of all Mental Health Laws and Child Abuse/Neglect/Maltreatment law

Additional Requirements:
  • Timely renewal of licensure
  • Current and timely renewal of CPR certification for healthcare professionals
  • Annual professional CPI certification ๏ฟฝ training and certification provided by Thrive Behavioral Hospital
