Intake Nurse - PRN/Per Diem Night Shift

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120-bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Intake, the Intake RN is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry/referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes and serves as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission. The Intake RN duties are (but not limited to) triaging patients, completion of assessments for assisting physician in identification of an appropriate level of care for potential patients, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete nursing admission paperwork with patient. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as referring hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit. The Intake RN also at times be responsible for the verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.

Qualifications Job Requirements: Current license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges. Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient. Must have or able to attain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
