Come join our team of professionals at Aurora Behavioral Health System TEMPE 6350 S Maple Ave Tempe AZ 85283. ABHS is a free standing psychiatric inpatient hospital with an outpatient program. Our psychiatric facility is licensed to treat adolescents and adults for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency. We are currently looking for a Per Diem Intake Counselor. The available schedule is as needed, days, nights, as well as weekend coverage.
Job duties
  • Handle all referrals for services, schedules assessments, and/or refers patients to appropriate community resources.
  • Complete level of care assessments for clients seeking inpatient and outpatient mental health and detox services.
  • Admit new patients to the hospital
  • Complete pre-certification with insurance companies to authorize patients' hospitalization
  • Work with nursing, medical, and other disciplines to coordinate care for patients

Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling or closely related field required.
  • Licensed in the state of Arizona and in good standing (LAC, LPC, LASAC, LISAC, LMSW, LCSW, LAMFT or LMFT)
  • Strong working knowledge of DSM-V criteria, community resources, assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Experience in a behavioral healthcare hospital setting is a plus.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Able to pass background check, drug screen, and meet qualifications for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
