What is an intake assessment?

An Intake Assessment job involves evaluating clients or patients to gather essential information about their needs, medical history, and concerns. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

What does an intake assessment do?

A typical day in an Intake Assessment position involves conducting interviews with new clients to gather essential background information, assess their immediate needs, and determine appropriate next steps or referrals. You may collaborate closely with clinicians, case managers, and administrative staff to ensure all relevant details are documented and acted upon efficiently. The role often requires a balance of direct client interaction and administrative work, including documentation and case review. Over time, you’ll develop expertise in identifying urgent needs and coordinating resources, which can open up opportunities for advancement into case management, clinical supervision, or program coordination roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the intake assessment position, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Intake Assessment role, you need a background in behavioral health, social work, or a related field, typically supported by a relevant degree or certification. Job description

Intake Attorney – Remote (AZ Preferred)

Personal Injury | Client Intake & Case Evaluation

About The Husband & Wife Law Team

For nearly 30 years, The Husband & Wife Law Team has represented individuals and families whose lives were changed by serious injury. Our firm is built on experience, integrity, and results — and on treating people with respect, compassion, and care.

We are a family-founded firm with deep roots in the community and a clear mission:

To thoughtfully guide people through adversity to their best possible outcome.

We take our work seriously and believe professionalism and humanity can — and should — coexist. You’ll find a collaborative, values-driven environment where experienced professionals are supported, trusted, and respected.

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned personal injury Attorney to join a team of experienced attorneys and serve as the first and most trusted point of legal contact for individuals and families seeking representation after a serious injury or loss.

This role is ideal for an experienced attorney—often with decades of practice—who remains deeply committed to the legal profession and to serving their community, but is ready to step away from courtroom demands, heavy caseloads, and day-to-day litigation pressures. It is an opportunity to remain meaningfully engaged in the practice of law by applying sound judgment, client wisdom, and professional presence at a moment when clients need it most.

As an Intake Attorney, you are often the first impression clients have of The Husband & Wife Law Team. Your experience, clarity, and compassion set the tone for the entire attorney-client relationship. You will engage with potential new clients by phone and, when appropriate, in person—listening carefully to their story, evaluating the legal merits of their matter, and providing reassurance and guidance during an often overwhelming time.

This role requires more than technical legal knowledge. It calls for a distinguished attorney who values connection, earns trust quickly, and understands how to explain complex legal concepts with calm confidence and empathy. You will help potential clients understand their options, the firm’s process, and fee structure, and determine whether the firm is the right fit for their needs.

You will focus on high-level case evaluation, professional judgment, and client communication—supported by a collaborative intake and legal support team that handles administrative and operational details. Our intake process is highly refined, respected throughout the industry, and central to the firm’s success. This support framework allows you to focus on what you do best—professional judgment, client connection, and thoughtful case evaluation—while the intake staff and systems assist in logistics and operational flow.

This is a meaningful, people-centered role for an attorney who enjoys mentoring through conversation, representing the firm with professionalism, and being a steady, trusted voice at a critical moment in a client’s life.
