What are Intact adjusters?

Intact adjusters are professionals who work for Intact Insurance, one of Canada's leading insurance companies. They are responsible for investigating insurance claims, assessing damages, and determining the amount that should be paid to policyholders. Their work involves communicating with claimants, gathering evidence, and ensuring that claims are processed fairly and efficiently. Intact adjusters play a crucial role in helping customers recover from unexpected events such as accidents, property damage, or theft.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in the insurance industry at Intact, and how can new hires prepare for them?

Professionals at Intact, like those in many large insurance companies, often face the challenge of balancing customer service expectations with detailed regulatory and policy requirements. New hires may also need to quickly adapt to evolving technologies and digital tools used for claims processing and risk assessment. Collaboration across various departments—such as underwriting, claims, and customer service—requires strong communication skills and adaptability. To prepare, candidates should familiarize themselves with basic insurance concepts, practice effective time management, and be proactive in seeking support from colleagues during the onboarding process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Intact Insurance Claims Adjuster, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Insurance Claims Adjuster at Intact, you need a solid understanding of insurance policies, investigative techniques, and claims processing, typically supported by a college diploma or relevant work experience. Familiarity with claims management software, digital documentation systems, and regulatory compliance platforms is crucial. Excellent negotiation, analytical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills help you resolve claims efficiently and empathetically. These skills ensure fair settlements, customer satisfaction, and the company's compliance with industry standards.

Internal Communications Manager

Internal Communications Manager

Perplexity

San Francisco, CA • On-site

$130K - $190K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Perplexity is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to build that function from the ground up. You will own how information moves through Perplexity. You will be responsible for what Perplexity employees think, feel, know, and do. This is a 0→1 role with executive exposure from day one.
If you believe internal comms is a strategic function and want to shape how an n(1) company talks to itself, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
  • Listen and learn across the company. Understand what's happening, how, and why in order to make sound recommendations on what should be amplified or addressed.
  • Run all-hands and executive content. Planning, execution, measurement, and evolution.
  • Internal storytelling. Turn strategy, launches, and hard decisions into messages that bring clarity to every team.
  • Be the signal in noise. Cut through Slack sprawl. Establish the channels, cadences, and norms that keep a fast company informed without drowning it.
  • Own change management. Deliver hard and easy news with equal clarity and candor. Earn trust for the message and the messenger..
  • Protect the culture. Words set the tone. Make sure ours sound like us as we grow.
  • Measure what matters. Perplexity is a high-velocity high-humility organization.
  • Partner across the company. Work with every team, brief executives directly, and earn standing as a truth-teller.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years in internal, executive, or corporate communications, ideally inside a high-growth technology company.
  • A builder, not a maintainer. You've stood a function up, not just kept one running.
  • World-class writing and editing. You can ghostwrite for an executive, draft an all-hands, or defuse a sensitive announcement in any voice or format.
  • Proven change-management instincts. You've delivered complex news to a whole company and kept trust intact.
  • Sharp judgment under pressure. You decide fast, say the hard thing kindly, and hold the line on quality on launch day.
  • Comfort with executives who hold a strong vision. You can advise, challenge, and make recommendations to senior leaders without flinching.
  • Deep familiarity with the rules of corporate comms, and a clear point of view on which ones to break and when.
  • Comfort using AI tools in your workflow, and the ability to say exactly where and how you use them.
  • A passion for the truth well-told
