This is a 100% commissioned role. There is no limit to the earnings potential in this role; candidates have the flexibility to manage their book and be compensated on what they produce. Commissions will be paid as a bi-weekly draw against commissions earned and reconciled annually. To help new employees while they build their book, they may receive a guaranteed draw for a specified timeframe.

Commissions will be paid based on new business sales, policy renewals and a growth bonus on the book.

About the role

We are looking for an Account Executive to join our growing Commercial team!

In this role, you'll be responsible for sales, prospecting, and servicing a commercial lines book of business. You'll build and maintain a meaningful pipeline of prospective customers, close sales with new business, and deliver excellent, timely service-acting as a key liaison between the customer and insurance carriers, including when claims arise.

This position is available at any of our offices in the Southern Alberta region.

What you'll do here:

  • Sell commercial insurance policies and drive new business growth for your book
  • Develop and maintain a prospect list and execute sales planning/business development activities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including visiting customer sites
  • Prepare proposals and coordinate account placement with insurers, leveraging broad market access and internal specialty resources
  • Keep abreast of market knowledge, products, pricing issues, and placement opportunities
  • Gather and document relevant information to ensure customers receive appropriate coverage and service
  • Maintain book quality by adhering to underwriting rules and sound business practices
  • Arrange payment terms for new business and support timely collection of payments
  • Support customers through the claims process with claims advocacy support when needed
  • Travel in and out of town as required

What you bring to the table:

  • Valid Alberta Driver's License
  • AIC General Insurance License (required)
  • CIP, FCIP, CAIB and/or CCIB (preferred)
  • Exposure to Epic (asset)
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance sales experience
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
