Job description

Zurich is currently looking for a to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S. RCIS offers insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents. RCIS offers a wide range of private product coverages, including a diverse selection of named-peril options, supplemental and stand-alone insurance products as well as federal crop insurance plans through the United States Department of Agriculture's Risk Management Agency. Together with RCIS agents, we protect America's farmers and ranchers.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to partner with business stakeholders to determine business and user needs related to specific application or system changes. Develops proficiency in RCIS development, system testing, and production environments, and collaborates with IT on system changes and updates. Collaborates with other technical and business resources, analyzes business and user needs, and identifies and tests requirements. Partners with Production Support, other IT resources, and TAC to resolve system defects.


Depending on experience, this role may be filled at a higher level. We are open to remote work for the right candidate, at the right level, located any where within the U.S..

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding customers objectives, processes, products and services and makes educated recommendations to implement the release plan.
  • Coordinating and leading activities with business owners to gather requirements.
  • Analyzing requirements to determine the systems' potential and defines impact to other business units and systems.
  • Supporting system configuration and integration testing including the functionality, performance and fit to ensure original requirements are met.
  • Assisting developers and business analysts with the creation and testing of new or updated functionality.
  • Assisting quality assurance with the creation and execution of acceptance testing.
  • Mastering the tools and applications used in the software development process.
  • Monitoring business decisions and manages documentation and communication through consultation with resources from Crop Claims, Compliance, Policy Servicing, Accounting, Information Technology, and training teams.
  • Completing impact assessments and validates IT solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience with Crop Claims Software (as end user or subject matter expert). 
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience with Crop Claims Software (as end user or subject matter expert). 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Documented expertise in MPCI field adjustment procedures and operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
