Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $80,000 - $115,000.  Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

Working under minimal supervision, this job contributes to Wawanesa success by maintaining, supporting and enhancing business systems and applications - with a strong emphasis on contact center, telephony, and cloud based solutions. The role plays a critical part in ensuring platform stability, operational resilience, and continuous improvement, while supporting ongoing modernization, automation, and AI enabled capabilities across multiple lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software.
  • Prepare technical specifications from requirements.
  • Ensure successful completion of developer assignments by estimating and tracking progress of assigned work.
  • Maintain the operation of business systems and applications.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents.
  • Participate in planning activities.
  • Create and update relevant documentation.
  • Improve upon and ensure the adherence to the established practices, processes, and guidelines.
  • Keep current with relevant technologies.
  • Mentor other Application Developers.
  • Support on call operational rotations and contribute to timely service restoration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Post-secondary degree or diploma in software development or equivalent experience.
  • Two to Six years software development experience using modern programming languages.
  • Genesys Cloud platform experience, including system administration and call flow development.
  • AWS development experience, including cloud native or serverless components.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience supporting enterprise grade, highly available platforms in production.
  • Source control and automation tooling experience (e.g., Git based workflows, AI assisted development tools).
  • Detail oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize and identify issues and take proper action to resolve them.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with style fitting for the audience and message.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to develop and implement plans by prioritizing and multi-tasking.
  • Good leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate high team morale by encouraging and coaching team members.
  • Effective decision making skills, with the ability to direct team members to achieve goals through clear instruction.
  • Experience using software development tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Source Code Management is considered an asset.
  • Certifications in Genesys Cloud, MS Teams Voice and AWS are  considered an asset.
  • Telco domain knowledge is considered an asset.
