Job description

Position Summary
ABT Insurance Services is seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead, coach, and develop our sales team. This individual will be responsible for driving new business growth, maintaining accountability through measurable performance standards, improving sales processes, and fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands how to build and manage a sales pipeline, coach producers to higher performance, analyze sales metrics, and implement systems that support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and mentor insurance producers and sales staff.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and performance reviews.
  • Establish clear sales goals, expectations, and accountability standards.
  • Support team members in overcoming objections, improving closing ratios, and increasing production.
Sales Performance Management
  • Monitor sales activity, pipeline management, and conversion metrics.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
  • Quotes generated
  • Close ratios
  • New business premium written
  • Follow-up compliance
  • Retention opportunities
  • Analyze sales trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reports to leadership.
Process & Training
  • Develop and maintain sales procedures, workflows, and best practices.
  • Assist in creating training materials and onboarding programs for new producers.
  • Ensure consistent use of company systems and documentation standards.
  • Promote adherence to agency processes and operational procedures.
Business Development
  • Assist producers in identifying growth opportunities.
  • Support strategic initiatives to increase market penetration and revenue.
  • Participate in carrier relationship management and business planning efforts.
  • Collaborate with customer service and retention teams to improve client experience.

Team Accountability
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Address performance concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a positive, solution-oriented culture focused on results and client service.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 3 years of sales leadership or sales management experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong coaching, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM, agency management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
  • Insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple sales representatives or producers.
  • Familiarity with KPI-driven management environments.
