What the day will look like  

  • Manage a pipeline of new and expanded sales opportunities.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis and strategic reviews for captives and reciprocals, including financials, coverage, domicile, and compliance.
  • Monitor emerging risk financing trends and deliver strategic insights.
  • Support the development of thought leadership through publications and presentations.
  • Support aspects of enterprise risk diagnostics, governance, and technology systems.
  • Promote Aon’s presence in the Canadian risk consulting market.
  • Champion and advance implemented critical initiatives for business development and client retention in Eastern Canada.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across all levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet client needs and expand business whilst ensuring continued service excellence within the existing captive portfolio.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and resolve performance issues promptly.

 How this opportunity is different

 

This opportunity offers the chance to work on complex, high-impact risk financing and captive projects with marquee clients. You’ll collaborate closely with senior leaders across Aon Global Risk Consulting, local brokerage teams, and global subject-matter experts, giving you direct access to deep technical and industry expertise. Within a team of subject-matter experts you will support and drive the Alternative Risk Financing strategy across Canada with a specific focus on the eastern region, proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities in partnership with core stakeholders.

At the same time, you’ll be supported by a strong internal network, proven methodologies, and robust analytics and technology platforms. This role gives you real ownership of client relationships and strategy in the Canadian market, with the scale and brand of Aon behind you.

Skills and experience that will lead to success  

  • Understanding of Insurance Principles is required along with a broad understanding of complex insurance program structures including, but not limited to, Alternative Risk Financing solutions such as captive placements.
  • 5-7 years of work experience in insurance, accounting, or financial analysis in an insurance related environment is preferred.
  • Consulting background would be an asset with a consistent record of success in business development, sales, or account management, with a focus on Alternative Risk Solutions, and / or related services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, risk management, Finance, Math, Economics, or a related field is preferred
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to find opportunities, anticipate market trends, and develop actionable plans to drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential for success in this role.
  • Additional qualifications, such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Enterprise Risk Management Diploma (ERM), Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) Canadian Risk Manager Diploma (CRM) are considered an asset.
  • French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.
