Job description

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for functional and automation testing of NJM's business applications. We are looking for an innovative software quality engineer who can leverage Generative AI technologies to enhance testing effectiveness, efficiency, and coverage while maintaining human oversight and accountability.

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automated test suites across different applications, working closely with Developers, Functional Analysts, Product Owners, and Project Managers to ensure reliable, high-quality releases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in an agile, small team environment with a focus on speed and quality

  • Review business and technical requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases

  • Design, develop, and maintain reusable test automation scripts to enable faster regression/delivery cycles

  • Perform manual and automated testing to ensure alignment with software requirements, risk assessments, and quality standards

  • Perform backend validation, webservices, and API testing using appropriate tools

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives, requirements and contribute to delivering business value Incrementally.

  • Utilize Generative AI tools to generate test scenarios from user stories, create test datasets, create automated tests and risk identification.

  • Apply AI-assisted analysis to improve test coverage, regression scope and accelerate defect root-cause analysis.

  • Maintain and improve quality engineering, functional, technical and professional skills through continuous learning based on industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in software delivery, including 2+ years in Quality Engineering, QA, software testing, or test automation.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong foundation in Quality Engineering principles and advanced testing methodologies.

  • Practical experience using Generative AI tools to support testing activities

  • Handson experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.

  • Expertise in SQL, API testing, and backend/system validation.

  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in P&C Insurance Domain

  • Experience using Agentic AI-based testing tools to support automated test script generation, execution, and maintenance

  • Experience with test automation tools like Selenium and Playwright

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Pay Range: $83,741-$97,178
