Company Overview


ODIR Construction is a union signatory general contractor specializing in public works construction, facility maintenance, tenant improvements, electrical maintenance, JOC projects, and repairs for government agencies, universities, municipalities, and commercial clients.


We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who can independently manage multiple projects from award through closeout while maintaining schedules, budgets, quality standards, and client relationships.

Position Summary


The Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution, administration, and financial performance of assigned projects. This position serves as the primary point of coordination between clients, subcontractors, field personnel, vendors, and company leadership.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, technologically proficient, and capable of solving problems independently without requiring constant direction.


Key Responsibilities


Project Management
• Manage projects from award through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel
• Conduct project kickoff meetings
• Lead project progress meetings
• Monitor project budgets and productivity
• Identify and mitigate project risks


Procore Administration
• Maintain project records within Procore
• Manage submittals, RFIs, drawings, specifications, and document control
• Track action items and project correspondence
• Ensure project documentation remains current and complete


Financial Management
• Review project budgets and cost reports
• Track committed costs and subcontract agreements
• Prepare and negotiate change orders
• Review monthly job cost reports
• Assist with forecasting and cost-to-complete projections
• Support monthly WIP reporting


Client Relations
• Serve as primary client contact for assigned projects
• Attend owner meetings and site walks
• Provide project status updates
• Maintain positive working relationships with clients and consultants
• Resolve project issues professionally and promptly


Field Coordination
• Coordinate with foremen and field supervisors
• Assist with manpower planning
• Monitor project productivity and schedule performance
• Ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment


Contract Administration
• Review project contracts and scopes
• Track insurance, certified payroll, prevailing wage, and compliance requirements
• Manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders
• Support project closeout and warranty administration


Required Qualifications


• 5+ years of construction project management experience
• 3+ years managing California public works projects
• Strong Procore experience (RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily logs, document control)
• Ability to read plans and specifications; managing project budgets and schedules
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid California driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JOC/Gordian projects
• Experience with university, municipal, or government agency clients
• Experience in union construction environments
• Experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
• Experience with facility maintenance, renovations, and tenant improvements
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and WIP reporting


Performance Expectations


Within the first 90 days, the Project Manager should be capable of independently managing assigned projects with minimal supervision.
