Construction Project Manager – Lead Complex Heavy Civil & Industrial Builds

Job Overview

  • Company: Kingsbury Companies, LLC
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $100,000 to $140,000 per year plus Performance Based Bonus.
  • Location: Middlesex, VT and surrounding areas
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
  • Project Scope: Heavy Civil, Industrial, Water/Wastewater, and Renewable Energy.

The Opportunity You will serve as the primary leader of project delivery, taking full ownership of high-stakes heavy civil and industrial infrastructure projects. This role offers the autonomy to manage complex budgets and schedules while mentoring project engineers and superintendents in a culture that promotes from within. You will be supported by a leadership team that values integrity and provides the resources necessary to build a long-term, meaningful career.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Direct all phases of project planning and execution to ensure heavy civil builds are delivered safely and on schedule.
  • Manage project profitability by tracking budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and addressing financial variances.
  • Supervise and mentor project delivery staff, including field personnel and engineers, to foster a high-performance team culture.
  • Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to facilitate seamless project handoffs and clear scope alignment.
  • Resolve technical and logistical challenges on-site by utilizing Critical Path Method scheduling and innovative construction technologies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and stakeholders by acting as the primary point of contact for project updates.
  • Enforce strict quality control measures and OSHA safety protocols to maintain a compliant and professional work environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of project leadership experience within the heavy civil construction industry.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously from inception through closeout.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced proficiency in construction management software such as Procore and CPM scheduling tools like Primavera.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost control, financial forecasting, and managing complex subcontractor coordination.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of working hours to various regional project sites. Roles is a mix of onsite and at the main office.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Approximately 7 years of related work experience in water/wastewater or renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), OSHA 30, or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
  • Prior experience in performance management, including conducting staff evaluations and supporting career advancement.
