Job description

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate, Insurance Product & Emerging Solutions to join our Insurance Product Development team.

About the role:

The Associate, Insurance Product & Emerging Solutions supports the development, execution, and optimization of innovative health solutions across Oscar's Individual and Family Plan (IFP) product portfolio. This role partners cross-functionally to support product strategy, market research, member engagement initiatives, and lifecycle management activities that improve member experience, affordability, retention, and long-term product performance.

The Associate supports the translation of enterprise and market priorities into actionable product initiatives through structured analysis, operational coordination, and disciplined execution across market leadership, actuarial, compliance, product management, compliance, regulatory, and operational teams.

You will report into the Vice President, Insurance Product Innovation and Development

Work Location: This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia. Note, this list of states is subject to change. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $106,812 - $140,190 per year in New Jersey, New York, and California. The base pay for all other locations is: $96,130 - $126,171 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Innovation Support

  • Support development and execution of product and innovation initiatives across Oscar's product portfolio and emerging solution domains
  • Analyze and translate market research, competitive data sets, and performance assessments to support product strategy recommendations
  • Assist in identifying growth opportunities, including lifestyle-oriented products, population specific solutions, and adjacent offerings
  • Support development of business cases, market insights, and product recommendations in partnership with actuarial, finance, market leadership, and marketing
  • Analyze member, market, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities

Product Design, Integration, and Lifecycle Support

  • Support ongoing product lifecycle activities, including launch readiness, post-launch monitoring, optimization efforts, and remediation tracking
  • Assist with development of product artifacts and documentation required for filings, governance reviews, and operational readiness
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs across product, regulatory, actuarial, compliance, operational, and growth teams to support alignment and execution
  • Support modular product design and portfolio consistency efforts across markets
  • Track timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across concurrent work streams and product initiatives
  • Assist in documenting assumptions, decisions, and key learnings to support future planning and audibility of product portfolio

Cross-Functional Execution & Operational Support

  • Partner collaboratively across actuarial, network, compliance, regulatory, finance, operations and market leadership teams
  • Support coordination of complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and business functions
  • Prepare materials, analyses, and summaries for leadership discussions, governance reviews, and planning sessions
  • Escalate risks, dependencies, and operational concerns in a timely and solutions oriented manner
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in product, analytics, strategy, consulting, or insurance-related roles
  • Experience operating in cross-functional, fast-paced environments
  • Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and communication skills, with ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with ability to navigate ambiguity and support execution in fast-paced environments
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with ACA marketplace, individual and family plan (IFP), and small group sponsored insurance products
  • Familiarity with QHP product filing processes and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supporting product lifecycle initiatives, product launches, or operational implementation efforts
  • Exposure to member engagement, rewards, wellness, or incentive programs
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory and compliance environments
  • MBA, MHA, MPH or advanced degree

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
