Job description

Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group is actively seeking a Billing amp; Insurance Analyst to work out of our Central Billing Office in Newport News. Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is comprised of over 200 physicians and advanced practice clinicians and is the largest physician-owned groups in Tidewater. The schedule is full-time work hours, Monday through Friday.
Position Summary
The Billing amp; Insurance Analysts are responsible for ensuring payer responses are process correctly and timely.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Takes incoming calls that are not worked by reception and assist patient.
  • Must answer phone calls from patients and all TPMG emails.
  • Responsible for uploading and electronically posting to NextGen.
  • Responsible for manually posting insurance payments and correspondences in a timely manner.
  • Must ensure all payer batches assigned to you have balanced and worked completely.
  • Ensures all payment total reports are turned in to Cash Control Daily.
  • Responsible for working collaboratively with TPMG OMโ€™s to insure all charges are reviewed and posted correctly.
  • Responsible for patient insurance verification (including worker comp) and assisting with demographic updates on patient accounts.
  • Review and research outstanding AR by utilizing tasks assigned in NextGen or Aging reports.
  • All other duties as requested by the Office.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of medical insurance billing/account receivables.
  • Knowledge of computer systems.
  • Knowledge of office equipment (i.e. calculator, copier, fax, etc.).
  • Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions and follow written protocols.
  • Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Skill in presenting information in an organized manner.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/REQUIREMENTS
  • COVID 19 Vaccination required.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Six to twelve months related experience/training.
