A Paralegal partners closely with the lead departmental paralegal, in-house counsel, and external counsel to support and drive litigation matters through to resolution, while also providing comprehensive administrative support to the Legal Department. Responsibilities:
- Draft and review legal pleadings, briefs, and written discovery for review and use by in-house and outside counsel. Compile and organize documents and information responsive to discovery requests
- Manage service of process and response calendaring for Michels family of companies
- Assist with day-to-day management of litigation matters and maintaining internal claims databases
- Perform research on, implement, and maintain legal department policies and procedures
- Provide administrative support to department: schedule meetings, process mail, assist with correspondence, make copies, maintain standard department materials, and manage distribution
- Assist department personnel in the preparation, editing, and transmittal of documents, correspondence, and presentations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination
- Intermediate knowledge of law
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite and DocuSign
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate (desired)
