Location: Richmond, VA. This is an in-person, on-site position designed for someone who enjoys collaborating face-to-face with attorneys and teammates.

Note: Candidates must have 2+ years of directly relevant pre-litigation or litigation paralegal experience. Personal injury experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with solid pre-litigation experience in a private law office may be considered and trained on litigation responsibilities.

Job Description

  • Manage personal injury cases from initial intake through settlement or final resolution.
  • Work closely with attorneys, clients, medical providers, insurance companies, experts, and other case participants.
  • Request, organize, review, and summarize medical records and medical bills.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery, settlement documents, and other legal materials.
  • Assist with filings and case activity in Virginia state and federal courts.
  • Track case deadlines, maintain organized files, and proactively move matters forward.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, conferences, and trials.
  • Prepare settlement packages and support attorneys through case resolution.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients throughout the life of their cases.
  • Identify next steps, anticipate attorney needs, and take ownership of assigned case responsibilities.
  • Provide general case management and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of pre-litigation or litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience working in a private law office.
  • Personal injury experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.
  • Professional, dependable, proactive, and client-focused.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Current Virginia Notary Public commission required, or ability to obtain immediately upon hire.
