Description

The Senior Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight for one or more offices delivering engineering and consulting services. This role is responsible for operational performance, people leadership, project success, and business growth for multidisciplinary teams generating significant revenue. We are looking for someone with experience in the field of civil or environmental engineering. 


Requirements

People & Office Leadership

Lead and support Department Managers and Project Managers

Foster an inclusive, collaborative work environment

Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop staff

Address performance management and employee development

Support retention through engagement and coaching


Operations & Project Oversight

Oversee operational performance, utilization, and staffing

Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics

Ensure accurate project planning and reporting

Conduct project reviews and support corrective actions

Ensure compliance with project management and quality standards


Client & Business Development

Build and maintain client relationships

Support proposal development and scoping

Collaborate with marketing and technical teams

Represent the organization professionally


Quality & Technical Oversight

Champion quality assurance and control standards

Review project plans for scope and staffing alignment

Support technical reviews and problem-solving

Ensure consistency and quality across deliverables


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

12+ years of progressive experience 

7+ years of project management experience

7+ years of people management experience

Knowledge of business operations and metrics

Valid driver's license


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Professional registration (PE, Geologist, Architect)

Experience with multidisciplinary teams

Municipal civil/environmental project experience
