The Andy Cortez Insurance Agency in Santa Maria is looking for a motivated **Personal Lines Insurance Sales Producer** to join our growing team.


This is a **true sales position**. Your primary focus will be helping individuals and families find the right Auto, Home, Renters, Umbrella, and other Personal Lines insurance solutions and turning opportunities into long-term clients.


**We want our producers focused on producing.**


You'll have access to agency-provided leads and sales opportunities, a structured follow-up process, modern sales technology, hands-on coaching, and a dedicated service team that handles the majority of day-to-day servicing for existing customers.


You'll earn an **hourly base plus commission**, giving you the stability of consistent base pay with the opportunity to increase your income as your production grows.


We're looking for someone who enjoys talking with people, is comfortable picking up the phone, follows up consistently, can handle hearing "no," and isn't afraid to ask for the sale. You don't need to know everything on day one but you do need to be coachable, competitive, accountable, and motivated to improve.


Insurance sales experience is valuable, but we're also interested in strong salespeople from other industries who have the personality and drive to succeed in insurance. Licensing support may be available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

* Meet established new business production goals and sales activity expectations.

* Respond quickly to new leads and sales opportunities provided by the agency.


* Prospect for new business through agency-provided leads, referrals, existing customer opportunities, networking, and other approved lead sources.


* Contact prospective customers by phone, text, and email and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales process.


* Gather accurate prospect information and develop insurance quotes based on each customer's needs.


* Quote and sell Personal Lines insurance products, with a primary focus on Auto, Home, Renters, Umbrella, and related coverage.


* Explain coverage options clearly, make appropriate recommendations, overcome objections, and confidently ask for the sale.


* Follow up on open quotes and sales opportunities until a clear outcome is reached.


* Identify appropriate cross-sell opportunities and help customers understand additional coverage that may benefit them.


* Ask satisfied customers for referrals and help build new referral opportunities for the agency.


* Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, customers, and community referral sources.


* Maintain accurate and timely notes, contact information, quote activity, and follow-up tasks in agency CRM and sales systems.


* Maintain consistent outbound sales activity and phone time necessary to achieve production goals.


* Follow agency sales processes and all applicable underwriting, rating, documentation, and compliance requirements.


* Maintain knowledge of insurance products, carrier guidelines, and sales processes through ongoing training and coaching.


* Participate in team meetings, sales coaching, and professional development.


* Provide a professional, helpful customer experience throughout the sales process and transition newly written customers to the agency's service team for ongoing account support.



Requirements

* Previous sales experience preferred; insurance sales experience is a plus but not required.

* Active California Property & Casualty insurance license preferred. Licensing support may be available for the right candidate.


* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.


* Comfortable making outbound phone calls and communicating with prospective customers throughout the day.


* Confident asking for the sale and motivated by achieving measurable sales goals.


* Able to handle rejection, overcome objections, and maintain a positive attitude throughout the sales process.


* Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and personal accountability.


* Coachable and willing to follow a structured sales process while continuously improving.


* Organized and able to manage multiple leads, quotes, follow-up tasks, and deadlines.


* Comfortable using CRM systems, phone technology, email, text messaging, and other sales tools.


* Able to learn insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and compliance requirements.


* High school diploma or equivalent.


* Must be able to obtain and maintain any insurance licenses required for the position.


* Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.


* Availability to work occasional Saturdays as scheduled.
