Job Purpose

The Judicial Foreclosure Legal Assistant is responsible for preparing and processing legal documents required for the Foreclosure process. This person will be required to use analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills when completing work. This person will work effectively with a variety of Firm members and clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update client websites and systems and input information into firm's case management software system.
  • Retrieve, review and analyze documents provided by the client to ensure their accuracy in order to prepare and file the legal documents. Documents to be reviewed may include detailed client screen prints, loan documents, or account statements.
  • Determine missing information and documents, and request from client, if needed.
  • Edit and revise files as instructed by attorney and Client.
  • Prepare and file documents and correspondence.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the department, attorney(s), client, or docket clerk to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or directed.


Qualifications / Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 6 months legal office experience; or 2 years non-legal office experience; or an Associate’s Degree/ 60 undergraduate credit hours; or Paralegal Certification
  • Highly detail orientated, ability to interpret and transcribe data with few errors
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM
  • Intermediate knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs
  • Proficiency navigating through various websites
  • Intermediate skills with various software and computer programs
  • Eligible to work in the United States
