Over the past few years, we've tripled in size, now employing over 2,300 team members and more than 200 physicians and advanced practitioners. We're currently seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Intern to join our Inpatient Pharmacy Department at our Galion location.
Position Overview
Under supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in compliance with state and federal laws and established procedures and accreditation standards, a pharmacy intern interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders, acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel, reviews patient profiles for drug interactions, performs clinical interventions including dosage recommendations, administers immunizations, performs technical and clerical functions associated with the ordering, packaging, control, distribution, and billing of medications, performs quality assurance functions, and prepares and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care. Works under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program at a college or university.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Intern in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred:
  • Appropriate certifications as necessary for the practice setting and stage of pharmacy education (e.g. ACLS, BLS, PALS &/or immunization)
