We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our team.
As a high-growth firm, Wilson Engineers offers the opportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projects alongside a talented and passionate team. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Tempe, Arizona office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop a thorough understanding of project scope, objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Perform field observations and inspections to verify construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
  • Manage the review and coordination of submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to support efficient project execution.
  • Prepare accurate daily field reports documenting construction progress, key activities, site conditions, and any issues requiring resolution.
  • Serve as a key liaison between owners, contractors, and project stakeholders, fostering clear communication and proactive issue resolution.
  • Review contractor Schedule of Values and payment applications to verify work completed and support accurate project billing.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor schedules, identifying potential risks and helping keep projects on track.

Develop and manage project punch lists, coordinating with project teams to ensure timely completion and successful project closeout.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in the Construction Industry, preferably as a Civil Construction Inspector, Field Engineer, or similar
  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar is a plus
  • Knowledge of construction means & methods and quality control measures, along with knowledge and experience in water/waste-water construction is a plus
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual, able to meet challenging time constraints
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software capabilities
  • Familiar with Microsoft Project and P6 Scheduling software a plus
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete and or AWS Certifications is a plus
