Orientation and Mobility Specialist - Early Intervention
Location: Reno, Nevada - Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS)
Schedule: Full-Time, Mon-Friday
Pay: Highly Competitive - up to $56/HR - Based on Experience

Reliable Health Care Services is hiring a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support infants and toddlers (ages birth to 3) through Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS) in Reno, NV. This is a meaningful opportunity to empower children with developmental delays and vision impairments to achieve greater independence and sensory access from the very start.
As part of a mission-driven, interdisciplinary team, you will assess, develop, and implement individualized orientation and mobility programs to help families support their child's functional growth in the home and community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of functional vision, orientation, and mobility for infants and toddlers
  • Develop and implement individualized strategies to improve orientation, spatial awareness, and safe travel
  • Educate and support families and caregivers to continue skills at home
  • Collaborate with speech, physical, and occupational therapists, case managers, and educators
  • Document progress and maintain records in compliance with federal/state early intervention guidelines
  • Participate in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) development and reviews
Qualifications
  • Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Pediatric experience is a plus (especially ages birth to 3), but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, family-centered team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
