D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Corporate Insurance Analyst. The right candidate is responsible for administering and analyzing the Company's corporate insurance programs, including policy coverage, renewals, exposure data, documentation, and reporting. This position evaluates insurance requirements and coverage provisions, coordinates with brokers and internal stakeholders, and provides analysis and recommendations to support effective risk management and business decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Administer and analyze corporate insurance policies, binders, endorsements, schedules, certificates, and related documentation to maintain accurate coverage records and identify material coverage requirements, changes, or issues
  • Coordinate insurance renewals and placements by managing timelines, completing coverage applications, compiling exposure and underwriting information, monitoring outstanding requirements, and working with brokers throughout the marketing and renewal process
  • Assess insurance needs and coverage options for business initiatives by gathering relevant risk and exposure information, evaluating available alternatives, coordinating with brokers, and providing recommendations regarding appropriate coverage and insurance requirements
  • Manage insurance program data and reporting by maintaining policy, exposure, premium, allocation, certificate, audit, and coverage information within RMIS, policy management systems, spreadsheets, and other repositories and preparing reports and analyses
  • Develop and maintain insurance program resources, including coverage summaries, policy schedules, coverage matrices, renewal trackers, certificates of insurance, and reference materials that support contractual compliance and consistent interpretation of insurance requirements
  • Analyze insurance-related information to support policy audits, exposure reviews, claims and incident evaluations, contract questions, vendor and subcontractor insurance requirements, and other business matters requiring interpretation or application of coverage provisions
  • Evaluate insurance administration processes and systems to identify opportunities to strengthen policy and claims management, documentation, workflows, data controls and reporting

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university or equivalent years of education and experience
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in corporate risk management, insurance brokerage, underwriting, claims, construction risk, policy administration, or a related insurance role
  • Experience with commercial insurance policies, coverage analysis, renewals, broker/carrier coordination, and policy documentation required
  • Strong computer skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new programs/systems quickly is essential
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
  • The noise level is generally moderate

Preferred Qualifications
  • Insurance license(s), designation(s), or coursework such as CPCU, ARM, CRIS, CRM, AINS, or similar credentials are preferred
  • Experience in construction, residential construction, homebuilding, real estate development, subcontractor risk, OCIPs, CCIPs, wrap-up programs, or project-specific insurance strongly preferred
