Job description

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Mechanical Engineer - Engine Integration
The Engine Integration Engineer will support the development and integration of engine, cooling, and aftertreatment systems for off-highway and industrial equipment applications. The selected candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
  • Support the integration and development of diesel engine, cooling, and aftertreatment systems for new and existing equipment platforms.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, validation, and supplier teams to ensure successful system integration and performance.
  • Assist with engine installation layouts, cooling package integration, and routing of exhaust and aftertreatment components.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of engine, thermal management, and emissions-related issues.
  • Coordinate and support validation activities including performance, durability, and field testing.
  • Review and analyze engineering data, test results, and system performance metrics.
  • Support compliance with emissions regulations and product requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support component selection and issue resolution.

Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering or related degree
  • Understanding of diesel engine systems, thermal management, and emissions technologies.
  • Experience supporting engineering development and validation activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills
  • Experience with engine, cooling, and aftertreatment system integration.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies
  • Experience with off-highway, construction, agricultural, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with emissions regulations and aftertreatment systems.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of data acquisition and test analysis tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional product development teams.
