EMPLOYMENT & LABOR LAW ATTORNEY (Experienced Associate or Lateral)

Omaha Office (Regency) or Lincoln (13th& M)

Woods Aitken LLP is seeking an experienced Employment & Labor Law Attorney to join our growing and highly respected practice group. Portable book of business welcome, but not required. This role is an opportunity to step into meaningful, hands-on client work alongside a collaborative team that values clarity, responsiveness, and practical legal solutions.

The position can be tailored to the experience, skills, and career goals of the successful candidate.


About the Role

You will work closely with a tight-knit employment and labor team that collaborates across all three of our offices and meets regularly to ensure consistency, quality, and strategic alignment in client service. This is not a siloed role, you will be part of a group that actively supports one another and shares knowledge.

Our clients span a wide range of industries, and we pride ourselves on delivering clear, actionable guidance that helps them make confident decisions in real time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise employers on a broad range of employment and labor law matters
  • Handle administrative agency matters (EEOC, NLRB, state agencies)
  • Draft and review employment policies, agreements, and handbooks
  • Support or lead litigation matters, depending on experience
  • Partner with clients on day-to-day counseling and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice areas

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed in Nebraska
  • 8+ years of experience in employment and labor law (employer-side preferred)
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice
  • Sound judgment and confidence in decision-making
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to engage across teams
  • Professional demeanor, discretion, and strong commitment to client service
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Tech-comfortable and willing to learn new systems and processes including integration of AI
  • Reliable, highly responsive, resourceful, and team-oriented
  • Flexible and adaptable; enjoys fast paced work
