SENIOR ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY - SPECIALTY (INSURANCE COVERAGE)
INSURANCE COVERAGE PRACTICE
Location: CA (Los Angeles, Irvine)
REMOTE (everyday besides Monday in the office)
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Insurance Coverage Practice Group. This growing practice handles complex, high-value coverage litigation and market conduct matters on behalf of both domestic and international insurers. The work includes commercial general liability, commercial property (including business interruption and environmental matters), errors and omissions claims involving attorneys, agents, and accountants, as well as directors and officers' coverage.
Candidate Profile
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record
    • Law Review and/or Honors required
  • Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing
  • 6+ years of substantive litigation experience, with a focus on insurance coverage matters
  • Admission to other states (particularly TX, NY, WA, or CO) is an asset
  • Experience analyzing complex insurance policies
  • Ability to provide clear coverage recommendations
  • Demonstrated experience drafting litigation-related documents
  • Experience participating in litigation proceedings, including depositions and mediations, among others
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following: bad faith insurance claims, commercial general liability, commercial property, errors & omissions, and directors & officers
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions
  • Provide clear and actionable coverage recommendations for clients
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other research tools
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Draft interrogatories, document requests, and responses
  • Review and analyze document collections in preparation for litigation
  • Engage in direct communication with domestic and international insurers
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to advance case objectives with efficiency and precision
