Job description

This role supports Producers throughout the underwriting and requirement gathering process until a decision is made by the carrier. Case Managers must possess a strong knowledge of the life insurance industry, application process and be skilled at troubleshooting problems that typically cause delays.

Case Managers will frequently interact with our internal teams, carrier staff, and a vast network of independent producers throughout the country. As a result, this role requires a sincere desire to cultivate and maintain strong relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Act as liaison between producers and carriers to achieve an underwriting decision as quickly as possible.

· Manage requests for case status updates and correspond with carriers to clarify and resolve outstanding requirements.

· Detect and escalate cases that need additional attention or intervention.

· Learn to navigate multiple carrier portals.

· Document work activities and communication in our agency management system.

· Have a sense of urgency without losing attention to detail.

· Provide telephone coverage for incoming calls.

· Schedule periodic calls/virtual meetings with high-volume producers and field office trainers.

· Generate status reports for management, producers, and others as needed.

· Support producers with after-issue changes that require the assistance of a carrier underwriter or case manager.

· Other projects as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Bachelor’s degree

· Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Case Manager or similar life insurance experience

· Prefer experience within a multi-carrier environment

· Culturally sensitive

· Strong discernment skills and ability to “triage” problems

· Has a sense of urgency without losing attention to detail

· Ability to adapt to a continually changing environment (technology, procedures, regulations, etc.)

· Proficient in Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

· Strong written and verbal communication skills
