Job description

The Branch Driver is responsible for delivering all material while providing courteous, efficient, and professional delivery service in a safe and timely manner. These responsibilities will support the development and accomplishment of Packer’s Strategy and Vision while promoting our company Swagger.   

Primary Duties 

  • Maintains a driving record in good standing and is courteous to others on the road 
  • Load/Unload all material with or without moving equipment in a safe manner accordance with company policy  
  • Verify accuracy of materials delivered to customer 
  • Operates company owned and leased vehicles safely in delivering materials to customers and other branches 
  • Makes deliveries on time as scheduled 
  • Maintains vehicle in neat and clean condition; observes traffic laws 
  • Maintains neat appearance; always remains courteous and serviced-minded in dealing with customers 
  • Practices good housekeeping and health & safety standards within department; abides by OSHA regulations 
  • Completes daily maintenance inspection 
  • Reports operating problems or maintenance needs to Fleet Manager or Branch Manager 
  • Follows proper procedures in reporting accidents 
  • Maintains a safe work environment for all employees 
  • Assumes other employee responsibilities when required; may perform other duties as assigned 

Job Specifications 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain coverage through company's auto insurance carrier according to company Driver Safety Policy.  
  • Ability to pass DOT drug test if required.
  • Able to obtain coverage through company’s auto insurance carrier per Driver Safety Policy 
  • Familiarity of delivery territory 
  • A highly-detailed individual with a focus on accuracy 
  • Excellent communication skills
