Position Overview:
FMS Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team in our Oakland office.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records, and enjoys working collaboratively with both clients and internal team members. You'll play an important role in maintaining accurate books while supporting multiple restaurant clients.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain bookkeeping records for a portfolio of client accounts.
  • Record sales, accounts payable, payroll, and other financial transactions.
  • Post transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Perform weekly check runs.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including:
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Inventory adjustments
  • Accruals
  • Journal entries
  • Communicate professionally with clients and vendors.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
  • Support senior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable learning new software and technology.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred:

  • QuickBooks Certification or QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification.
  • Restaurant accounting experience.
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
