Job Description
We are seeking a Crop Insurance Assistant to join our Farm Credit family! This position is responsible for the support of Crop Insurance Agents, and all crop insurance operations including: processing of customer insurance applications, production reports, acreage reports, mailing and filing all crop insurance update letters with required documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Crop Insurance Policy Processing: Process crop insurance policy documents, ensuring accuracy and timely entry in multiple proprietary software systems. Monitor and assess accuracy and quality of policy document submissions. Collaborate with ACA Crop Insurance Agents and staff regarding policy interpretations and underwriting. Monitor deadlines and workflow to ensure all daily operations and assignments are compliant with AIP and RMA deadlines. Ensure insurance documents are keyed and uploaded to AIPs in progression of crop year policies including but not limited to applications, assignments, production reports, CLU acreage reports, written agreements, correspondence, etc.
General Crop Insurance Support & FSA Specialist: Responsible for working with FSA, USDA and other sources as necessary, and sharing all current and relevant information with the crop insurance team and others in the association as needed. Responsible for working with agents to provide required information on crop insurance customers to applicable FSA offices as necessary. Responsible for processing and uploading of data to the appropriate AIP by the due date. Setting up new customer files, as necessary. Filing processed documents and assigned correspondence. Support the crop insurance team, primarily assisting the local agent, while providing support for all crop insurance agents as needed - including preparing documents, filing claims, running quotes, and other requests on an as-needed basis.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a HS Diploma
  • Good knowledge of general office routine and use of office equipment, including phones, computers, copiers, and scanners
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills & ability to follow up
  • Contributes to building and maintaining a positive team atmosphere
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member under minimal supervision.
