Licensed Personal Lines Insurance Agent

Our Client, a local, awarding winning, independent Insurance Agency, is seeking a professional, outgoing, dedicated, and client focused, Personal Lines Agent / Customer Service Representative to join their fast-growing team.

The Personal Lines Insurance Agent / Customer Service Representative is responsible for the production of new insurance sales, specifically homeowner, auto, and/or personal lines insurance. The Agent is the initial point of contact for prospects and policyholders on all products and coverages.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Develop and pursue sales opportunities by initiating cross-sales calls and pursuing leads while servicing new and existing Personal Lines Client Accounts
  • Respond to customer questions, amending policies, explaining available services and products, and providing information on insurance pricing
  • Customize insurance packages to suit individual customers’ needs and requirements
  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest by telephone calls, emails, writing letters, or making personal visits
  • Call on new business, discuss existing policies, review liability limits and exposures, explore other coverage needs, evaluate replacement costs, round out accounts, and bind renewals
  • Manage the sales cycle from start to finish through active listening, negotiation, and closing new business as well as providing quotes, premiums, and comparing rates
  • Develop and promote strong relationships with prospects and clients to generate new business
  • Collaborate with new clients to understand their needs, gather necessary data, research policy options, present options, finalize and bind new coverage, cancel old policies, and negotiate with carriers when necessary
  • Conduct a policy review and engages with probing questions to develop a thorough understanding of the clients’ needs and recommend coverages
  • Perform administrative duties as needed such as answering phones, taking payments, documenting in agency’s management system, greeting visitors, etc.

Qualifications:

  • PA Property & Casualty license preferred, if currently studying must have ability to take test in next few weeks
  • PA Life, Accident and Health Licenses and /or Commercial line experience a plus! Must be willing to obtain Life, Accident and Health Licenses
  • Experience in Insurance is preferred, Benefits and Health Insurance knowledge is helpful
  • Organized, detail-oriented, & initiative-taker who can multitask in fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Proficient with MS Office, general computer skills, and ability to learn and continuously improve technical skills
  • Ability to work with multiple computer applications and demonstrate speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus with ability and tact to manage difficult customer interactions
  • Proactive problem solver, able to solve complex problems without direct supervision
  • Positive Collaborator! Gets along with everyone and making teamwork and unity a priority
  • Strong ethical values, excellent work ethics, honesty, and integrity
  • Strong negotiation skills; Persistent with strong follow-through and follow-up

  • Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills. Maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirements of carriers. Keep current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal and Credit Background Check

Schedule and Compensation Overview:

· Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

· Hourly position – pay based on current PA insurance licenses and experience

· Agency is aggressively growing. Monthly and Quarterly bonuses!
