Job description

Gochenour Insurance Agency is seeking a motivated Commercial Insurance Sales Representative to develop relationships with local business owners and provide insurance solutions tailored to their operations. This position will focus on prospecting, evaluating business insurance needs, gathering underwriting information, presenting coverage options, and building a profitable commercial book of business.


The ideal candidate is confident communicating with business owners, organized when managing complex accounts, and motivated by performance-based earning opportunities. The agency will provide access to carrier markets, sales technology, training, and support while allowing the representative to develop referral relationships and pursue new commercial opportunities throughout Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect for new commercial clients through outbound calls, referrals, networking, community involvement, and agency-provided opportunities.
  • Consult with business owners to identify risks, coverage needs, and potential gaps in their current insurance programs.
  • Gather accurate underwriting information and coordinate the quoting process with available carriers.
  • Present and explain commercial insurance proposals, including coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, and pricing.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and guide qualified opportunities through the sales process.
  • Build relationships with referral partners, including lenders, real estate professionals, accountants, attorneys, contractors, and other business professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospects, quotes, activities, and follow-up tasks in the agency’s CRM.
  • Identify appropriate cross-selling opportunities for personal insurance products and coordinate with the agency’s personal lines team to provide clients with comprehensive coverage solutions.
Requirements

Ability to gather detailed information and manage multiple accounts throughout longer sales cycles.

Professional, dependable, coachable, and committed to ethical sales practices.

Active Texas Property and Casualty insurance license or the ability to obtain one within the required timeframe.

Previous commercial insurance, business-to-business sales, or relationship-based sales experience is preferred but not required.
