Job description

 Purpose of the Position:

Facilitate and maintain Corporate Risk and Safety policies throughout the Company. Provide support and guidance to Field Operations for the administration of cargo, liability and worker’s compensation initiatives

Primary Job Duties:

n  Management of DOT-compliance related items

n  Management of vehicle onboard camera program

n  Facility Audit program management

o    Provides training, conducts and/or oversees audits for all facilities to identify deficiencies

o    Issue corrective action related to these safety deficiencies.

o    Enforces safety in all facilities companywide. Provides root cause analysis and investigation of all accidents, and gives detailed written evaluation and corrective action plans. 

n  High-level Claims administration

n  Corporate insurance

n  Acts as primary liaison between employees, field operations and the insurance company and is ultimately responsible for closure on an event. Financially responsible for each event and must coordinate billing internally or with the insurance carrier.

 

Secondary Job Duties:

Completes special projects at the request of management.

Mitigates negative exposure which could result in financial loss for the company; to increase profitability. Ensures Compliance of all regulated paperwork across all Regional Operations.

 

Personal Skills Required:

n  Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management preferred or equivalent of 4 years’ experience in a transportation related field.

n  Intermediate Excel knowledge

n  Knowledge of DOT Regulations (MCS-150s, UCR, Clearinghouse, etc.)

n  Able to work independently and communicate clearly both written and verbal.

n  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

n  Ability to maintain a high level of credibility with all levels of staff and in all circumstances. 

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of OSHA and Hazard recognition
