Position Title: Supervisor of Accounting
Business Unit: INSA
Reports to:
Director of Business Oversight - Advisory Businesses
Position Overview:
This position oversees compiling and recording revenue and disbursement, oversight of commission and incentive processing and reporting, and month-end reporting to the corporation and operational support processes for FNB Advisory businesses, including FNB Insurance. Position also manages a team of accounting employees and provides leadership and coaching to ensure operational objectives and are consistently achieved for team effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs bookkeeping tasks including posting data to agency general ledger and keeping records of supporting documents. Verifies accuracy of billing data and revises any errors. Resolves discrepancies in accounting records. Prepares monthly closing entries for consolidation into corporate results.
Reviews historical data and report variances to corporate finance department monthly. Compiles and reports data to peer agency consultants quarterly. Compiles and reports data to internal audit department twice per year for financial reporting and SOX reporting.
Reviews and reports employee commission to corporate payroll department. Reconciles and disburses payments to carriers and non-employee sales agents. Executes responsibilities accurately and timely and maintains confidentiality.
Oversight of Direct Bill and Agency Bill Receivables and Payables processes. Demand Deposit Account reconciliation (DDA Recon) report. Daily reconciliation of DDA report.
Oversees financial reporting for the agency and other advisory departments and provides analysis on a weekly and monthly basis
Process improvement and oversight of controls -Reviews department processes, procedures, and controls on a regular basis and implements changes and improvements as needed.
Leads and supervises a team of employees fostering a positive and high-performance work environment. Provides guidance, coaching and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Sets clear expectations and objectives for the team.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
