Job Summary:

Preferred Industrial Contractors is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to support industrial construction and maintenance projects. This role is responsible for ensuring all work meets project specifications, industry codes, and quality standards.

If you have experience in welding inspection, piping, or structural QA/QC and enjoy working in the field, this is a great opportunity to join a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials, welds, piping systems, and structural components
  • Review drawings, specifications, and inspection test plans (ITPs)
  • Perform visual weld inspections and coordinate NDT/NDE activities
  • Verify welder qualifications and welding procedures (WPS/PQR)
  • Maintain inspection documentation (MTRs, weld logs, NCRs, reports)
  • Identify and report nonconforming work and support corrective actions
  • Coordinate with field teams, clients, and third-party inspectors
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical/trade school preferred)
  • 3–5 years of QC/inspection experience in industrial construction or fabrication
  • Knowledge of ASME, AWS, API or similar codes
  • Certifications such as CWI, API, or NDT Level II preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, isometrics, and welding symbols
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including heights and confined spaces
  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Comfortable working in outdoor and active construction settings
