$34.00 To $44.00 Hourly
Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is a leading manufacturer and provider of utility trucks and equipment with over 30 years of industry experience, 40 + locations nationwide, more than 2,500 employees, and a rental fleet exceeding 10,000 trucks.
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to perform safety, compliance, and preventive maintenance inspections on utility trucks, aerial devices, and related equipment at customer locations.
This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to identify equipment deficiencies, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform 90-day and periodic aerial inspections to assess the mechanical, structural, and operational condition of aerial devices.
Conduct dielectric testing to verify electrical insulating capabilities.
Complete bucket liner inspections for physical condition and insulation integrity.
Perform annual ANSI/aerial inspections and DOT compliance inspections.
Conduct manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance (PM) inspections, including lubrication, hydraulic systems, fluids, filters, and wear components.
Document inspection findings and provide repair recommendations as needed.
Complete DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Operate and inspect equipment to identify defects, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
Perform initial inspections, diagnostics, and parts identification/requisition when necessary.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
Ensure all equipment meets quality, operational, and safety standards.
Maintain accurate inspection reports, service records, labor documentation, and repair recommendations.
Submit work orders and repair documentation for approval.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a professional work environment.
Attend required safety meetings and technical training sessions.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of heavy-duty truck, utility equipment, or related technician experience.
Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, welding, schematics, and blueprints.
Ability to accurately document inspection and service findings using computer-based software systems.
Valid driver's license required.
Must provide own mechanic tools.
Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 30-50% of the time.
