Job description

Are you an experienced Technical Sales Professional in the process industry looking to grow your career? If so, Emerson has an exciting hybrid opportunity for you! Based in Boulder, CO, you will be responsible for driving instrumentation sales for your assigned territory and accounts by leveraging digital sales tools and data-driven insights to expand the business by strengthening relationships with existing customers and developing new opportunities. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Manage a defined territory using digital tools to engage existing and prospective customers, understand their needs, and deliver tailored solutions
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through digital prospecting and targeted outreach across key industry segments 
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to execute focused sales campaigns and introduce new products and solutions
  • Build strong product and application knowledge to effectively communicate value propositions and influence customer decisions
  • Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships through consistent follow-up and high-quality service
  • Utilize CRM systems and digital sales tools (e.g., sales engagement and marketing platforms) to track performance, prioritize opportunities, and drive efficiency
  • Analyze territory performance and provide regular reporting on sales activities, campaign effectiveness, and market insights
  • Prioritize opportunities, manage time effectively, and independently drive sales outcomes while collaborating across teams
     
Who You Are:

You relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geographies; understanding interpersonal and group dynamics and engaging in an effective manner. You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information and readily distinguish between what's relevant and what's unimportant to efficiently define sophisticated problems accurately before moving to solutions. You maintain a positive demeanor and forward-thinking approach despite troubling circumstances or setbacks. You negotiate strategically in tough situations, by responding efficiently to the reactions and positions of others, to win concessions without damaging relationships.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Salesloft or similar sales engagement tools
  • Minimum one (1) year of related technical sales experience
  • Experience with client presentations and product demonstrations
  • Able and willing to travel 10% for regional and territory meetings
     
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in process industry products, instrumentation, or industrial automation
  • Demonstrated success in remote selling or digital sales environments
  • Experience contributing to or leading targeted sales campaigns

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to one day a week after training is complete and once proficient in the role. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and efficiency as we serve the needs of our customers.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: We pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The total target comp range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
