Overview

Build the Technology Powering the Future

At Veeco, we develop advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment that enables the technologies shaping the future, from AI infrastructure and high-performance computing to next-generation electronics.

We're seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help bring complex electromechanical systems from design to reality. In this role, you'll work directly with cutting-edge semiconductor equipment, partnering with technicians, engineers, and operations teams to solve real manufacturing challenges, improve product quality, and support successful production builds.

Responsibilities

Support Manufacturing Operations

  • Provide hands-on engineering support during assembly, integration, and testing of advanced semiconductor equipment.
  • Partner with technicians and production teams to troubleshoot build and manufacturing issues.
  • Support daily production activities to help ensure quality, schedule, and performance goals are achieved.

Solve Technical Challenges

  • Investigate manufacturing and quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions that improve product reliability and manufacturing performance.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production and supplier-related issues.

Improve Manufacturing Processes

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Support engineering change implementation and configuration-controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and repeatability.

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support manufacturing activities.
  • Partner with Design Engineering, Quality, Operations, Service, and Supply Chain teams to drive successful product builds.
  • Support suppliers and manufacturing partners in resolving technical and production-related challenges.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, or a similar role supporting the manufacture of complex electromechanical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, precision automation, photonics, scientific instrumentation, or other highly engineered electromechanical products.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and engineering change control processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, integration, or testing of complex electromechanical products.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documentation, BOMs, work instructions, and engineering change processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, or similar approaches.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Semiconductor, precision equipment, vacuum systems, automation, or other high-technology manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.


Salary and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $76,000-$97,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
