When you join Design Group as a Sr. Designer, I&C, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our I&C practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals. Work with licensed engineers and experienced designers to design panels, planview drawings, BIM models, and etc. for industrial facilities. Be able to train/mentor less experienced professionals in client and industry standards and best practices. Exhibit leadership skills to successfully manage a team of designers throughout a project execution. Develop IO wire pull schedule, while performing conduit, wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and cable tray sizing. Develop Network cable pull schedule. Create construction drawings for I&C deliverables such as P&IDs, panel drawings, standard installation details , schematics, connection diagrams, and plans. Interpret and apply industry codes and standards, including hazardous area classification for electrical equipment. Develop specifications and review vendor submittals. Occasionally provide on‑site assessment, construction support, and start‑up support. Work with other engineering disciplines across multiple offices. Make an impact day‑to‑day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team.

What You’ll Bring
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Strong user experience with Revit
  • Experience executing projects for industrial facilities with a focus on quality, cost effectiveness, and safety
  • Knowledge of: ISA standards NEC NFPA UL508A Technical competency in Instrumentation, control systems, panel design and etc.
  • Proficiency in performing calculations for wire sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, cable tray sizing and fill.
  • Expertise in the preparation of design criteria, and specification for I&C equipment
  • Solid skills in instrument selection and creating datasheets, IO lists, cable schedules, and instrument and valve indexes.
  • Expertise in designing wiring and conduit drawings using AutoCAD and 3D modeling in Revit.
  • The ability to assist in the development of construction drawings and review work packages
  • Firm understanding of digital communication protocols, communication cable types, and methods of cross communication between systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to successfully interact with management, clients, and vendors
  • Solid computer skills in the use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Revu Bluebeam
  • A willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start‑up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
  • A two‑year degree with relevant experience

Compensation

The approximate pay range for this position is $120,000-$150,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
