Job Description

The Instrumentation Tech III willbe responsible forproviding on-site customer and operations support to internal BDB San Diego customers. This includes, but is not limitedto,installation, qualification/ validation, calibration, maintenance, and repair service of diagnostic and general laboratory equipment and instruments.This position may at times require after-hours, holiday and weekend support depending on business needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Installing and servicing instrumentation with minimum direct supervision, as requested, by the internal customer basein accordance withcurrent ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standardaintaining Documentationin accordance withcGDP(Current Good Documentation Practices) requirements and standards.
  • Completing service documentation, asrequired, by the position function or requested by Instrumentation Management andin accordance withcurrentcGDPrequirements.
  • Displaying maturity and judgment in time management, customercommunicationand control of work schedule.

  • Reporting quality and other technical problems, in detail, to the Instrumentation management and all parties needing to be aware of this information.

  • Completingall administrative documentation required by the positionin a timely manner.

  • Actively supportingareas of empowerment and continuously improvingteamprocesses to create a more efficient work environment.

  • Performingcalibration, maintenance and repair activities for all laboratory equipmentlocatedat the BDB San Diego Site as needed.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma/GED isrequired.

  • The ideal candidate would be ahave US Military TMDE/PMEL or Instrumentation experience

  • Associate'sorBachelor's Degreein Electronics/Computers/Biomedical Engineering is desired.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7 years of recent related work experience in servicing laboratoryequipment andplant instrumentation; experiencetroubleshooting of complex electronicsisrequired.

  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience with ISO 9001:2008, 10012, 17025 or 13485required.

  • Experience with medical devices and equipment, PCs/software/LIS/networking/database management knowledge is highly desirable.

  • PC-based equipment and application software knowledgeishighly desirable.

  • Desirable experience: Knowledge of Refrigeration Equipment Calibration, Maintenance, Repair, and Troubleshooting.
