Description
Main Purpose:
The Instrumentation Technician Helper assists with assembling or securing pipe, tubing, fittings or related equipment and measuring, cuting, bending, reaming, and installing tubing according to drawings, blueprints, sketches or manuals.
Essential Functions:
  • Bend 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" stainless steel tubing, various OD sizes
  • Assemble or secure pipe, tubing, fittings or related equipment, according to specifications by brazing
  • Plan layout and installation in accordance with instructions or work requirements using drawings, blueprints, sketches and manuals
  • Measure, cut, bend, ream, assemble and install tubing, ensuring leveling and uniformity according to drawings
  • Read schematics / blueprints
  • Install support for instruments and equipment and dekoron
  • Run tubing from sample systems to analyzers and headers
  • Display knowledge of analyzers and pressure regulators
  • Run rack tubing
  • Build sample systems
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:
  • 1+ years experience in instrumentation or instrumentation fitting
  • Must be able to know how to bend 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" stainless steel tubing, various OD sizes
  • Must bring own tools to be able to perform duties as an instrument fitter
  • Must pass a 1/4" tubing bending test
  • Must know how to install dekoron and support for instruments and equipment
  • Good problem solving and reasoning ability
  • Must keep the working area clean and work safely
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Environmental Conditions:
Work activities are performed in a shop environment. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas etc.).
