About this role
Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician-Instrument Tech in Plaquemine (LA).
As the Maintenance Technician-Instrument Tech, you would provide maintenance craft-specific support to plants. You would maintain and repair all types of equipment with craft knowledge and expertise. Provides front line reliability and maintenance subject matter expertise to ensure sustained reliable equipment and process operation. Provides technical expertise which may be equipment-based or repair technique-based and impacts the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the system and/or equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
  • Calibrates and aligns equipment.
  • Completes preventative maintenance activities.
  • Checks sizing of components and parts.
  • Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
  • Coordinates maintenance spare parts.
  • Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
  • Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables.
  • Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
  • Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED and one or more of the following:
    • 2 year degree in a Mechanical related field.
    • NCCER certified as a Millwright (NCCER Certification obtained through an Instructor Led Training Program is a preference).
    • In lieu of a degree, 3 or more years of relevant military experience.
    • 5 or more years of experience in an industrial environment as an instrument tech or related field.
  • Current, valid US driver's license.
  • Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. For information on TWIC eligibility requirements, please see: https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic (If unable to access link, copy and paste in your browser.)
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Turbines, Compressors, Generators, Fans, Pumps and Gearboxes.
  • SAP Knowledge.

  • Equipment Diagnosis and Repair - Ability to diagnose and correct equipment problems, ensuring smooth operation and minimizing downtime.
  • Preventative Maintenance - Experience in completing preventative maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures and extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Technical Knowledge - Utilization of functional and technical knowledge, company standards, and educational background to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Instrumentation- Experience in diagnosing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial instrumentation and control systems to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient plant operations.
  • Troubleshooting - Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions, document failure analysis, and collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Effective working and maintaining relationships with Natural Work Teams and key stakeholders, including engineers, operations personnel, and co-workers, to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
